2010 marked  the guitarist- singers 40th  year as a full time musician playing blues swing and roots music  in Wpg and Canada.   In that time he co-founded  several popular blues bands  like the Black Jack Blues Band  in 1973  and Houndog in 1976.  Along the way Brent  has  been part of the backup band  for such legends as Gate Mouth Brown, Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Billy Boy Arnold and many more, as well as opening for greats like James Cotton  Johnny Winter  , John  Prine.  A carer highlight was sharing the tour bus and stage with B.B.King and his band as his opening act on a western Canada tour.  Brent Parkin’s music is a mix of Chicago style blues,Jazz blues, Swing, and Roots Rock and Roll.

Honours include ''  Juno Award  1993 ,  Maple Blues Award Nominations 1996 -  1999 M.B.S.  Lifetime Member   1997 ''  After  suffering a serious heart attack in Sept.  2007  Brent took some time off then appeared in the highly sucssesfull play Messa for Prarie Theatre Exchange providing the musical landscape , singing and acting.   Feeling healthy and back playing again Brent is looking forward to seeing Y,all in the future.    Quotes     "Brent Parkin is one of this countries best blues guitarists"   Peter North Edm. Brent Parkin has played many  clubs including some well known ones like the Yale Hotel in Vancouver, King Eddy in Calgary, Blues on Whyte in Edmonton, Windsor Hotel in Winnipeg, Silver Dollar in Toronto just to name a few.  Festival appearances include the ,Winnipeg Folk Fest Edmonton Folk Fest, Vancouver Folk Fest, Winnipeg Jazz Fest, and Toronto,s Harbour Front Blues Fest.     Parkin has also performed on many T.V.  and Radio shows like  C.B.C. shows 90 Minutes Live, Swinging on a Star ,Global T.V.,s Jimmy King Presents  ,C.T.V.s Live at the Wharehouse
